Science Camp Day Two:
Another wonderful day of action and adventure. The design process is really a big emphasis in science camp. Learning to build, model, design, fix, adjust, tweak, and "keep at it" are such important skills in the field. Our campers are becoming really great at it....certainly had a lot of practice while building towers, dancing friction cups, and catapults.
Great sharing, team work and effort continue to be the strengths for this group of kids this week. Keep it up!
Big thank you to Mr. Dukeman for covering camp for a little while this morning. Camps really seemed to like his energy and sense of humor.
Thank you nurse Baker for popping in throughout the day and continuing to take a strong interest and giving positive feedback to our campers on their work. Going above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks.
Enjoy over 60 pics of many of our activities from today. Also, check out some of the videos we have been putting up on twitter @rozenchemistry.
Tomorrow we tackle tie-dye shirts and stomp rockets early and then move onto salt and string challenge, electromagnets, designing our own masks, pepper and soap experiment, and much more.
Get a good rest.

Science Camp Day One:
We are off to a great start! After a couple quick teacher demos, introductions and safety protocol this morning, we established team names and posters. On our website please enjoy over 50 pictures which sort of timeline you though some of the activities we worked on today.
What a great group of campers. Lots of good sharing and teamwork going on for sure.
Tomorrow, Mr. Dukeman, may be checking in the campers along with the nurse in the morning. I have an appointment earlier in the morning that he will be covering me for. Mr. Dukeman is an awesome 15-year veteran of our science department here at WH, and he has worked our camps before. The students respond very well to his great sense of humor and knowledge in the field. His specialty in this school is teaching AP environmental science. Hopefully I should be arriving right at the start of camp or soon after.
Tomorrow we will be opening with stick and pin towers, dancing man friction cups, and our ever popular penny catapult
challenge.
It will be another action packed and busy day so be sure to get a great sleep.
See you in the morning.
